Is Tom Brady a top 5 pick?
Here’s the deal, 2 years ago he chucked 50 t.d.’S and ran for 2. That is a massive amount of points. So much in fact that the second place finished with 36.
Over the last 4 years the top qb’s have finished with 34, 36, 31, and 32 t.d.’s. A top 10 qb will average around 25 td’s. So, if Brady scores 50 touchdowns again, and the average top 10 competitor scores 25 then it looks like double to me. Factor in yards and you are not looking at double anymore but you can see the huge advantage.
Having Brady as your starting qb is like having 1.5 starting qb’s. There is downside though. In deeper leagues (leagues with more than 10 teams), and especially leagues with a flex rb/wr position in addition to the 2 rb requirement for starting, drafting a qb early can spell disaster for you running back depth.
…But having a consistent QB scoring over 3 td’s per week can overcome plenty of defficiencies.
The question is, how will Brady do this year?
