Are you are numbers Person?

Are you a numbers person or a gut feel person?

All of us tend to think we are both, and you really have to be to be a sucessfull fantasy football drafter.  The problem is that it is tough to be both.  For instance, numbers would have told you a few years ago that brady and moss might have good years but moss would be a risk.  Gut feel would have told you that Brady is an excellent qb and Moss is an exceptional receiver.  Couple the 2 and you have a recipie for success.  In one of my leagues a number 3 pick used his 1st on Brady and 2nd on Moss.  Needless to say he ran away with the championship but left everyone at the draft scratching their heads.  On the flip side being a gut feel person gave him stephen jackson and a bunch of seahawks players last year which put the same person in last place!

Numbers and history are a good trend to establish a basis but ultimately you need to move guys up and down according to how you feel they will do.  …but don’t reach too much on too many players or you may end up in last place too.

Sunday Franchise Fantasy Football PodCast Episode #1 – RB’s and Draft Importance

Welcome to Sunday Franchise and the Sunday Franchise podcast!

Breaking Down Fantasy Football

In this episode I cover Drafting fundamentals.

Fantasy Football can be many things.  A fun hobbie, something to keep you interested in watching the NFL each and every Sunday.  It can be a way to have some fun with friends and keep in touch.  It can be a competitive outlet and a means to learn more and force yourself to stay on top of the NFL’s current events.  …and last but not least, it can be a constructive means of gambling spread out over 5 months.

Fantasy Football is one of the most popular and fastest growing interactive activities of it’s kind:

In 2007 the number of people playing fantasy football in the US topped 14 million, 15% of those being women.  The sport is growing so fast that the NFL has taken note.  Some stadiums like Miami’s are incorporating “fantasy lounges” where people can interact and receive updates on gameday.

This podcast is geared towards the fantasy draft which is the most important event in one’s fantasy football season.  Every pick will determine how your team competes for the entire year and typically these picks are done in an expedited fashion which imparts added pressure.  Sunday Franchise is here to help you prepare for the draft and make informed decisions all year.  Our draft preparation tool is second to none and will provide the latest news, information, and projections for every relevant offensive players in the league!

In addition I touch on the value of Runningbacks and why they should be the focus of every draft.
